Electrical/ Electronic Engineer

Litron Lasers is one of the world’s leading solid-state laser manufacturers. Our lasers find widespread use in a multitude of scientific and industrial applications worldwide.
The company is looking to recruit a highly experienced industry based enthusiastic Electrical/Electronic Engineer to support activities within R&D and Manufacturing departments. This is a Rugby site based position.
The position will require broad ranging knowledge of electrical and electronic components and assemblies, to provide support for existing and future products. These include high-power and high voltage switched-mode power supplies, and control electronics all using Litron’s own proprietary designs.
You will be responsible for:
* Liaising with Manufacturing, Quality team, Supply Chain team and subcontractors to understand current issues and help find solutions.
* To review, update, alter or redesign current electrical items as required.
* Testing and development support of the product life cycle to ensure ongoing quality expectations, including conformance with Electromagnetic Compatibility regulations and relevant electrical safety standards.
* Generation of necessary documentation, including Wiring Diagrams and build instructions.
Skills / Knowledge desired:
* Must have R&D development background, including concept through to production.
* Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
* Red brick trained
* Use of CAD software for schematic / wiring diagram generation.
* Use of Microsoft office software for document generation.
* Broad knowledge of hardware (analogue and digital) electronic engineering with minimum 5 years experience.
* Knowledge of high voltage components (power supplies, DCDC converters, inverters, chargers etc)
* Strong communication, teamwork, and leading abilities
* Good written and oral English
* Confident in presenting to management and technical specialists.
Project Management
The successful applicant will also be an analytical, organised thinker with the ability to work both alone and in a team environment, and have good time/project management skills. This is a higher level electrical engineering role and you must have a high level of experience in this field.
