Perimeter Security Engineer

Perimeter Security Engineer is required by a leading FinTech. The role would suit an experienced security engineer with deep knowledge of firewalls and perimeter security technologies. The ideal Engineer will have significant knowledge of route switch (BGP, OSPF etc) complemented by extensive network/perimeter security experience achieved in a financial services/markets environment. The role entails being responsible for design and architecture decisions, LLD and project implementation/management and BAU duties. The successful Engineer will need to demonstrate advanced knowledge of; Palo Alto and Fortinet (and next-generation Firewalling principles generally) - virtual and physical, IDS/IDP, CASB and SASE concepts, network segmentation as well as experience in network packet analysis and SIEM log analysis (advantageous). The Perimeter Security Engineer will be an SME and act as a platform owner for perimeter security technologies and will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of the security concepts that determine a secure network perimeter (CISSP advantageous).

Required experience and knowledge:

c.10 years Network Security experience achieved in a financial services/markets environmentnCCNP-level knowledge of routing and switching principles (BGP, OSPF)nExtensive next-generation Firewall design, implementation and support experience (Palo Alto & Fortinet) - virtual and physicalnExtensive experience in secure network perimeter design including network segmentationnPacket capture and analysis experience using vendor and open-source toolingnSIEM log analysis and anomaly detection experience (preferable)nCoding and automation experience Python and/or Terraform (preferable)nCISSP certifications or familiarity with CISSP concepts
