Bricklayer:
Location: Essex
Murphy is seeking an experienced and skilled Bricklayer with a strong background in recasing works to join our existing team. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification and a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card. This role involves working on various construction sites, ensuring high-quality bricklaying and recasing work is completed efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform all aspects of bricklaying, including laying bricks, blocks, and other masonry units.
Carry out recasing works with precision, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic quality.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and dimensions of structures.
Prepare mortar and other bonding materials.
Ensure that work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Conduct site inspections and assessments to determine necessary repairs and maintenance.
Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Document and report progress, issues, and any deviations from plans to the site manager.
Comply with all health and safety regulations on-site, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Requirements:
Proven experience as a Bricklayer, specifically with recasing works.
Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification.
Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
Strong knowledge of bricklaying techniques, tools, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Good physical condition and stamina, capable of performing manual labour in various weather conditions.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
