Barker Ross are seeking a highly skilled Setting Out Engineer to join a fantastic project in North Acton, to qualify for this role you must be SCS Inducted. As a Setting out Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of a large construction project by conducting surveys, measurements, and technical drawings. You will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of projects, maintaining compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and experience with surveying techniques and equipment. You must have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure. Effective communication and teamwork skills are also essential, as you will collaborate with architects, project managers, and site teams to achieve project objectives.
Responsibilities
Conduct site surveys to determine project specifications and requirements.
Measure and mark construction areas using advanced surveying equipment.
Establish and maintain survey control points for accurate measurements.
Prepare precise technical drawings and blueprints.
Collaborate with architects and project managers to ensure project goals are met.
Interpret engineering plans and specifications to guide construction activities.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the construction process.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Setting out Engineer or similar role.
Proficiency in surveying techniques and equipment.
Strong knowledge of construction and engineering principles.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, and other relevant software.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
