About the Role: We are recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school in Redbridge, just a short walk from Fairlop Station, for a permanent Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their dedicated SEN Department. Location:Redbridge Borough, Fairlop
Client School Overview: Our client school is a mainstream secondary school with a strong commitment to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for all students, particularly those with SEN. Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am - 3:20 pm
Friday: 8:00 am - 1:20 pm
Punctuality is essential to this role, as the school places a high value on maintaining a structured and reliable environment for its students.Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, both in the classroom and in dedicated support sessions.
Assist SEN students with their academic work, ensuring they understand and can complete their tasks effectively.
Collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
Create an inclusive and positive learning environment where all students feel supported and encouraged.
Work closely with teachers and other LSAs to ensure the specific needs of SEN students are met consistently.
Support the social and emotional development of SEN students, helping them build confidence and independence.
Keep detailed records of student progress and behavior, reporting back to the SENCO and teaching staff as needed.Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN, is desirable but not essential.
A genuine interest in supporting students with special educational needs and helping them reach their full potential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.
A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to adapt to the diverse needs of each student.
A willingness to engage in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills in SEN support.
Graduates are encouraged to apply, though relevant experience and qualifications will also be considered.
