Head Of Engineering

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a UK market leading food production company based in Malton. Truly at the forefront of their game, they are expanding and are looking for a new Head of Engineering to join their rapidly growing team. As Head of Engineering you will be responsible for the definition, design and delivery of the engineering strategy within the business
The role will involve:
* Ensuring compliance to all statutory and mandatory / legal aspects of engineering within the plant.
* Continually developing the team and the approach to problem solving driving a culture of continuous improvement.
* Development of the contractor controls on site and the permitting system
* Development of the preventative maintenance system / KPI suite and plant reliability.
* Control of the engineering budget with a target to demonstrate year on year reduction in spend relative the asset base, using CARV as the key indicator .
* To work with the operations team and manage the members of the engineering team to improve knowledge and understanding of issues as they arise.
The ideal candidates will have:
* At least 8 years’ experience within a FMCG / food manufacturing company.
* Strong engineering qualifications and background essential – degree qualitied preferred
* IOSH min preferably NEBOSH cert / dip
* Effective communication and presentation skills, able to communicate at all levels in the business. With the ability to inspire motivate and command the engineering team
* Complete knowledge and understanding of legislative and safety requirements within engineering field
* Capable use of MS project / CAD systems
