About the school
It is a good rated (Ofsted) school located in Stockport. The positive relationships between adults and pupils allow the pupils to grow in confidence which improves their ability to interact and contribute vocally. Pupil attendance is high and partnered with the high-quality teaching, the school is continuing to go from strength to strength.
The curriculum is designed to be engaging and comprehensive by covering a range of subjects including English, mathematics, social studies, arts and more.
The leadership and governors regularly check on the quality of teaching and are always eager for staff to share best practice to ensure that the level of teaching and learning remains high.
Main Responsibilities
Supporting a pupil with an EHCP on a 1:1 basis.
Attend to the needs of the child, including pastoral, social, health and hygiene.
Liaise with the class teacher to adapt and modify learning materials and activities to suit the child's learning ability and preference.
Promote inclusion and engagement so that the child is involved with the class.Requirements
Have experience of previously working with a child/children with SEND.
The ability to motivate pupils and keep them engaged during lessons.
Must be able to adapt your strategies, resources, and approaches to best support the child's needs.
Strong behaviour manager skills.
Be punctual as any disturbance to the child's routine could create issues.
Have excellent standards of written and spoken English.
Be minimum level 2 qualified as a teaching assistant (equivalent of Support Teaching and Learning).Summary
