About the Role: As the Principal Building Surveyor, you will:
Lead technical services, ensuring all building work meets legal and safety standards.
Oversee enforcement of building regulations, demolitions, and temporary structures.
Manage dangerous structure incidents, working closely with emergency services.
Contribute to the leadership of the Building Control Authority and represent the team on various projects.
Support the Building Safety Regulator in regulating Higher-risk buildings. Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert technical advice on building safety and regulations.
Ensure full cost recovery and compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022.
Enforce building regulations and manage unauthorised building work.
Train and develop building inspectors and dangerous structure engineers.
Respond to emergency situations involving dangerous structures. Qualifications and Experience:
Membership of MRICS, CABE, or similar.
Level 3 qualification to comply with the updated regulatory framework established by the Building Safety Regulator (BSR)
Minimum of five years post-qualification experience, ideally in Building Control.
Strong management skills and a thorough approach to detail.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
