England, United Kingdom The Highfield Partnership Full time

Talent Development leaders, this really is a career opportunity that it’s worth taking notice of, even if you’re not a sports fan

  • It’s a role in which you can apply your professional expertise for talent development and learning theory in an organisation that has a central purpose to expand opportunities for young people through football, education and character development.

  • It’s a new and critical role with an inspirational purpose driven organisation that is changing people's lives in Africa, Europe and North America.

  • It’s a role where you can really combine a passion for learning & development, truly making a difference …..and football (the last one isn’t a prerequisite though)

We are honoured to be partnering with Right to Dream as they seek to appoint a Group Head of Talent, Learning and Development. Owned by the British-Egyptian Mohammed Mansour, Right to Dream (RTD) is a purpose led football community partnering with talented young people to give them a nurturing environment in which they can flourish and thrive. Adopting a holistic model of athletic development, young people are encouraged to grow as human beings and become great footballers. With a growing network of youth football academies and professional football clubs, underpinned by their unique approach, RTD creates an environment for purposeful performance to unlock potential and talent in life, on and off the pitch.

With operations in Denmark, Ghana, Egypt, the UK and US, this role can be based at any of these locations, but will include significant international travel (c. 40% initially).

The role:

In this newly created role, we are looking for someone who is passionate about growing the organisational talent, building a learning environment, and inspiring positive and engaging leadership to help craft and deliver the future of learning at Right to Dream. Reporting to the Head of People you will help design, develop, facilitate, and implement innovative, creative, high-impact learning and talent management strategies to build a learning and productive environment across the Right to Dream community. This is an ideal career opportunity for an individual who wants to shape and impact, and combines curiosity and creativity with pragmatism and practicality.

Among your core priorities will be:

  • To develop and implement RTD’s global talent management and learning & development strategies to support a high-performance culture across the organisation.
  • To undertake a diagnostic review of the existing employee, coach and leadership development offerings, recommending and developing efficiencies where appropriate.
  • To develop effective engaging learning materials, initiatives and programmes, including the facilitation of leadership and management development through a range of blended learning approaches.
  • Develop and manage the learning and talent development budget.
  • Build talent & development capability amongst the People Team to deliver learning journeys locally.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive talent management framework including performance management, personal development & career planning, succession planning, competency frameworks and career pathways, and implement these through local people partners.
  • Design and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives to foster a diverse workforce and promote an inclusive culture.
  • Implement strategies to promote a culture of continuous learning and development throughout the organization, including providing guidance and support on leadership/behavioural assessment tools, such as 360-degree feedback, Hogan, StrengthsFinder, and others.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, especially football, to gain buy-in and support for learning programs.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of learning, performance management and talent development initiatives and implementing changes or process improvements as needed.
  • Select, manage and evaluate external vendors and consultants when needed in a cost-effective manner and ensure knowledge and skills are passed on to our people team.

The Person

As you will be the primary learning expert within the Group, we are looking for evidence of a personal commitment to self-development, so welcome a combination of relevant professional experience and qualifications (such as Masters/bachelor’s degree in organizational development, human resources management, business administration or equivalent).

You will also be able to clearly demonstrate:

  • Validated experience and thought leadership in developing and driving learning and talent development across an international organization (e.g., learning design, instructional design, career pathing, adult learning theory, coaching certifications).
  • A strong record of engaging with senior leaders & executives to drive impactful talent management initiatives.
  • A demonstrable passion and knowledge around the psychology of learning, including proficiency with psychometric tools for employee and leadership development.
  • Excellent presentational, facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
  • Evidence of designing and implementing innovative adult learning programmes, incorporating strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively (adaptable and flexible) in a fast-paced environment.
  • A detail-oriented and data analytical approach, able to evidence ROI and business impact for learning initiatives.
  • Fluent English language skills.

We are also looking for an individual who can demonstrate the Right to Dream leadership behaviours which include:

  • An international mindset and the ability to celebrate individual differences in personality, ability, and culture.
  • Ability to model servant leadership behaviours such as humility, integrity, and selflessness in interactions.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Conveys respect for diverse individuals and perspectives; models inclusive behaviour and treats everyone fairly.
  • Being open to doing things differently and trying new approaches.
  • Working in partnership to achieve results.
  • Critical thinking and creative problem solving.
