Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with some on-call (1-2x a month)
Salary: £24k-£25k
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Care Coordinator to join a market leading homecare company. The role of a care coordinator is a very important role within the company, involving the care and support of clients and the care team. As the Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for preparing and uploading weekly rotas for the 2000-hour services customers and care team along with any ad-hoc changes to existing rotas, the planning and allocation of regular carers to their service users at their requested time and ensuring that the highest standards of care are maintained.
As Care Coordinator you will ensure that your team of support staff are providing practical assistance and support to all Service Users enabling them to fulfil their maximum potential and have valued lives in additional to promoting independence in their lives. As part of the role, you will also take part in the on-call rota which is typically (but not set) or 1 or 2 times a month.
For this role, you will have experienced Care Coordinator within Domiciliary care with a solid understanding of the field, as well as have strong administration skills or a Supervisor/Senior Care Assistant within domiciliary care.
The care coordinator's role will involve:
* Matching and assigning Care Assistants to clients
* Liaising with and providing support to Team Leaders and the Registered Manager
* Responsibility for certain data input relating to specified area as changes occur
* Ensuring that holiday/sickness and emergency calls are assigned and recorded
* Preparation of reports and handling emergency incidents as required
* To assist with the running of the out of hours on-call service as required
* Recruiting of Care Assistants
Key competencies of the Care Coordinator include:
* Previous experience as a Care coordinator. supervisor or senior care worker within a Domiciliary care environment
* To be able to plan and allocate the workload of care staff
* To be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
* To be able to prepare accurate reports and efficiently handle emergency incidents as required
* Good communication skills and time management
* Sound understanding of good care principles
* Ability to cope under pressure
* Calm and patient
* Ability to display empathy and understanding
* Flexible and reliable
The ideal candidate will:
* Be computer literate and have knowledge of care management software
* Be able to work efficiently in a high paced environment
* Have excellent administrative and communication skills
* Be dedicated to delivering exceptional service on behalf of the company internally and externally
* Be flexible and reliable
* Possess excellent people management skills
* Be an active team player
