If you answer yes to any of the questions above, then we want to hear from youNCS are currently looking for Surveyor to work for a leading rail company with over 15 years’ experience based in Leeds starting ASAP.The successful candidate will need considerable experience in surveys and rail, and likely to meet all the following criteria.Purpose of the Role
  • To carry out topographical and railway surveys
  • To carry out surveys to the requirements of the survey specifications in contracts or to the requirements of Designers
  • To accurately and reliably produce survey data to present to clients or Designers
Technical Skills* Competent in the selection and operation of the appropriate survey equipment and the operation and instruction of the following –Total StationPlatform gaugeLaser SweepGPSHeights and staggers gaugeMephistoAutomatic and digital levelsLaser ScannerTrack Measuring Device
  • Have a good understanding of LiDAR and its suitability.
  • Competent in the use of at least two or more of the following survey and complementary software packages with a good understanding in the operation of all others including –
Terramodel / LSS / Liscad / SCC / N4CETrimble Business Software / Leica GEO OfficeAutoCAD / MicrostationBentley Railtrack / MX Rail
  • Be able to understand and translate RICS and Network Rail surveying standards into site practice.
  • Be competent to in the following survey techniques –
TraversingTopographical and detailed surveyingLevellingGaugingHalladeGPS / GNSS operatio· Hold Sentinel competencies including –PTS* Hold additional competencies including –First aidCAT/Genny* To act as UAV Pilot as and when requiredBehavioural Skills
  1. Professional approach to delivering technical activities.
  2. Good team member
  3. Good communicator
  4. Is flexible and adaptable in changing circumstances.
  5. Ability to prioritise work
  6. Ability to make decisions to support the requirements of the business
  7. Able to identify and manage task and site risks relevant to the location and work being undertaken
