Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer Contractor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Palantir and/or PySpark, particularly within the Defence or a comparable government sector. You will play a crucial role in project execution, data pipeline creation, and stakeholder management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Analysis & Visualisation: Gather requirements and visualise them using the most appropriate tools, with a strong preference for Palantir.
  • Data Pipeline Creation: Assist with the ingestion of data by developing robust data pipelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues from the Data & Governance Teams to ensure seamless integration and data flow.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to understand business priorities and support the delivery of business value.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Delivery Lead and Project Team on progress and any issues encountered.

Essential Qualifications

  • Palantir Experience: Actively used Palantir as an Engineer on projects within the Defence sector, or proficient in PySpark with a willingness to upskill in Palantir.
  • Defence Sector Experience: Demonstrated experience working in the Defence sector or a comparable government sector.
  • Customer-Facing Skills: Comfortable in a customer-facing role, working alongside senior stakeholders.
  • Agile Methodologies: Proven experience with agile ways of working.

Additional Information

  • On-Site Work: Willingness to work up to 3 days a week on-site in London.
  • Team Dynamics: Collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment to achieve project goals.
