Our client, specialising in high end residential projects across Central London, are looking for an assistant buyer to support procurement and site teams in sourcing and purchasing materials, products, plant, and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in sourcing materials and services at competitive prices and ensure timely delivery.
Maintain supplier relationships and identify new suppliers meeting quality standards.
Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.
Monitor costs and manage inventory levels to align with budget and project needs.
Coordinate plant equipment scheduling and ensure maintenance records are up-to-date.
Systems & Processes:
Manage daily orders through Zahara and resolve discrepancies.
Assist in securing cost-effective rates and liaise with accounts for invoice queries.
Maintain records of hired and owned plant, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Oversee PAT testing and manage transportation of plant and materials.
Personal Profile:
Strong knowledge of construction materials and plant.
3+ years’ experience in construction procurement.
Established relationships with suppliers are a plus.
Proactive, self-directed, and detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
Highly numerate and deadline-focused, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
