Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science/Maths Teacher to join our committed team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and innovative lessons in both Science and Maths, ensuring that each student can access and enjoy the curriculum, regardless of their starting point or learning barriers.
This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about working with young people who have SEMH needs, and who is eager to make a real difference in their lives through creative teaching strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in Science and Maths, adapted to meet the needs of students with SEMH
* Develop engaging, differentiated learning materials that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities
* Build strong, supportive relationships with students to encourage engagement and improve outcomes
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and personalised support to promote development
* Work collaboratively with the wider school team, including SEN specialists, therapists, and support staff
* Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies to maintain a positive, safe learning environment
* Support students’ social and emotional well-being, creating a classroom environment that promotes resilience and confidence
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
* Experience teaching Science and/or Maths, ideally at secondary level
* A passion for working with students who have SEMH needs and a commitment to supporting their holistic development
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
* Ability to inspire and motivate students through creative and dynamic teaching methods
* Knowledge of SEMH strategies and experience in an SEN setting is highly desirable, but training will be provided
