Purpose of the Role:
The General Foreman will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of construction works within the Infrastructure project and frameworks, with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards and adherence to schedules.
  
Key Accountabilities:
Create and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Manage day-to-day construction activities on site, ensuring works are executed within program and to specified quality standards.
Coordinate resources effectively to meet project requirements.
Oversee the delivery of temporary and permanent works in accordance with design specifications.
Manage material and plant resources efficiently to meet program and financial targets.
Assist in planning and programming activities in collaboration with site engineering teams.
Conduct site discipline meetings to facilitate effective coordination and delivery of works.
Ensure the implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Permit to Work systems prior to commencing work.
Assist in the preparation of RAMS, COSHH assessments, and safety plans as necessary.
Maintain effective communication and liaison with site teams and subcontractors.
Conduct site inductions and deliver safety briefings to subcontractors.
Supervise subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and program requirements.
Record and update site diaries to maintain accurate project documentation.   
Competency Requirements:
Ability to prioritize safety in all aspects of work.
Excellent communication skills
with the ability to effectively liaise with site teams and subcontractors.   
Demonstrated experience in executing construction work in line with quality standards and safety documentation.
Confidence in delivering safety briefings and toolbox talks.
General civil engineering experience, preferably in the highways sector.
SSSTS and CSCS certification required.
Proficiency in Office 365.
TWS certification preferred.
First Aid certification preferred.   
Technical / Professional Expertise and Qualifications:
General civil engineering experience, particularly in the highways sector.
SSSTS and CSCS certification.
Proficiency in Office 365.
TWS certification preferred.
First Aid certification preferred.
