We are seeking a skilled Senior Warhead Mechanical Engineer for a critical role in Aldermaston, West Berkshire. This position offers the flexibility of being fully remote with an 18-month contract duration.

Location: Aldermaston, West Berkshire (Fully Remote)
IR35: In scope of IR35
Pay Rate: £63.58 umbrella
Security Clearance: SC required MIN

Interview Process: Microsoft Teams (two stages)Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for bespoke pressure and vacuum equipment within a nuclear licensed site.
Review design information against internal procedures and applicable design codes.
Conduct conformity assessments at contractor works for equipment manufacture and testing.
Support stakeholders in resolving design/manufacture issues.
Promote AWE's safety procedures and design standards.
Communicate effectively at all levels and provide clear feedback.
Maintain high standards in environmental, safety, health, and security.Qualifications and Experience:
HNC/HND or Degree in an engineering discipline, or a chartered engineer.
Strong knowledge of Mechanical Engineering practices and Pressure Equipment Regulations.
Familiarity with design and manufacture of Pressure and Vacuum Systems.
Experience with relevant vessel/piping design codes and specifying materials.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, welding, NDT testing, inspection, and quality control plans.Preferred Skills:
Ability to analyse Pressure Vessel Code calculations, Fracture Mechanics, Fatigue Analysis, and Finite Element Analysis.Additional Information:
A full driving licence is essential for visiting external manufacturing supply chains.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain required security clearance.
An additional eligibility check will be done at the offer stage.
