Field Service Engineer

Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical, Mechanical & Buildings) Location: Multiple sites around Hull Salary: £40,000 per annum + fully expensed company vehicle Job type: Permanent, Full time - 40 hours per week plus occasional weekends Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm CK Foods Holdings Ltd specialises in the production, processing, and supply of premium halal chicken finger foods, pizza cheese, and dairy products. We are seeking a highly skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our engineering team across all our sites - commercial and manufacturing in Hull. This is a crucial role in ensuring our production equipment, facilities, and commercial buildings operate efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. The role requires a mix of 50% electrical, 50% mechanical engineering, alongside building and site maintenance responsibilities across our manufacturing and commercial facilities. About the Role: You will work across all sites to maintain the buildings and equipment and carry out work as required as well as organise planned maintenance to ensure compliance and safety. In this role you will be required to work across all our sites (commercial and manufacturing) working closely with the manufacturing team maintaining to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all planned preventative maintenance is conducted to avoid production disruption. You will work across all sites to maintain the buildings and equipment and carry out work as required as well as organise planned maintenance to ensure compliance and safety. You will need to have worked in a similar manufacturing environment and be able to carry out preventative maintenance, fault finding and deal with machine down-time efficiently. Our engineers work within multi-disciplinary teams. Excellent communication skills and teamwork are a must for this role as well as a flexible and proactive approach to ensure the needs of the business are met. Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across machinery, conveyors, motors, drives, and control systems. Conduct general building maintenance, including plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, lighting, roofing, doors, windows, and structural inspections across commercial and manufacturing equipment. Respond to emergency building repairs to ensure operational continuity and safety. Maintain site utilities and services, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and compressed air systems. Support installation and commissioning of new plant, machinery, and building modifications. Work with the production and facilities teams to improve overall site performance, energy efficiency, and reliability. Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety (HACCP/BRCGS), and site regulations. Assist in continuous improvement projects, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and site standards. About you: Ideally HNC, HND or degree qualified or apprentice with time served experience and excellent practical knowledge gained in a similar food manufacturing setting Minimum 3 years', hands on post qualification experience A methodical approach to fault finding Conversant with UK Health & Safety rules, regulations and best practices Ability to priorities workload and concisely record information Knowledge of PLC's, pneumatics and hydraulics Knowledge and experience of BRCGS for Engineering and Food Manufacturing Additional Information: When applying applicants should provide a covering letter detailing their salary expectations, availability to commence work and current residential location.
