Tradewind are recruiting for an English Teacher
We are currently looking for an adaptable English Teacher to start in September 2024 at a secondary Pupil Referral Unit in the Leicester area for children aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH).
The Role
English & PE Teacher for secondary aged pupils with SEMH needs at PRU in Leicester.
Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm.
Start September 2024, could go perm for the right person.
Excellent pay up to £220/day DOE.
Paid PAYE via Tradewind. We don't use umbrella companies.
Equal pay to what the school would pay you on contract from the 13th week onwards.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Secondary Teacher of English or a Secondary Teacher of PE.
You will need positive confident classroom management skills.
You must be able to differentiate lessons to the differing needs & levels of students.
Students will be of mixed ability, age and backgrounds.
You will need to work closely with your TAs to managing challenging behaviour while engaging, motivating & building strong relationships with your pupils.
You will also need to collaborate with school management, parents and outside professionals.
The School
Secondary PRU in the Leicester area for children aged 11-16.
All students have an EHCP for Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs, SEMH.
Class sizes of no more than 8 pupils including TA support.
Students academic attainment is at lower levels than expected for their age.
Experienced & supportive management.
Collaborative teamwork atmosphere.
Focus on safety, inclusion and holistic outcomes for students that prepare them for the next stage in their life.
Easily accessible by car, bus, tram or tram.
To join us and be successful in this Leicester based SEMH English Teacher role, you will need to:
Hold QTS Status or QTLS.
Have an enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to pay for a new one).
Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
Minimum of two professional references checks.
Provide a CV with full education & work.
Have the legal right to work in the UK.
