Your new company
Hays are proud to be working in partnership with an Ofsted rated "Good" single form entry school in Widnes that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to recruit a reliable and level 3 qualified teaching assistant for a temporary to permanent contract. This is a full-time position with working hours from 8:30am - 3:30pm Monday to Friday.
Your new role
In your new role as a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting across all KS2 (Key Stage 2) classes. You will work under the instruction of the class teacher to aid in general classroom and behaviour management as well as use your own initiative to effectively identify pupils that may need additional support and give said support as required. You will build strong constructive relations with your pupils by actively encouraging them to give input during lessons. As the class sizes are relatively small, you will be supporting mixed ability pupils on a 1:1 and group basis in all core subjects, offering intervention and booster sessions and SATs preparation.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working with childre between the ages of 7 - 11 in the last 2 years, as well as:
An NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning
Experience with the KS2 national curriculum
Experience with SATs preparation
