Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Mentor to join a primary school in Dagenham. This full-time position is for the entire academic year, starting in September. The successful candidate will work within the school's Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Position: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Primary School, Dagenham
Contract: Full-Time, Academic Year
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, focusing on behaviour management and emotional support.
Implement behaviour intervention plans and strategies to support positive behaviour.
Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and other support staff to create a nurturing and structured environment.
Support students in developing social skills and coping mechanisms.
Assist in the development and delivery of personalised learning plans.
Monitor and record students' progress, behaviour, and well-being.
Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each student.Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a behaviour support role, is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and interventions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the holistic development of children with SEN.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management or SEN support are advantageous.Benefits:
