Our well-established accounting firm on the outskirts of Yeovil is looking for a dedicated and experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for processing payroll for a diverse range of clients, ensuring all payroll cycles are completed accurately and efficiently. As a Payroll Specialist, you will work closely with our team of accountants to provide exceptional services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

* Processing payroll for a range of clients with all payroll cycles, including weekly, fortnightly, 4 weekly, monthly and annual pay runs

* Manual calculation of tax and National Insurance contributions

* Calculating pay increases, overtime, and bonuses for employees

* Administering Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) and Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)

* Reporting to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) on a monthly and annual basis, ensuring timely and accurate submissions

* Carrying out pension assessments and auto-enrolment for eligible employees

* Responding to client queries in a professional and timely manner, providing exceptional customer service

Requirements:

* Proven experience in processing payroll for a variety of clients

* Sound knowledge of tax and National Insurance legislation

* Familiarity with calculating pay increases, overtime, and bonuses

* Experience in administering SMP and SSP

* Excellent communication and customer service skills

* Proficient in using payroll software

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Committed to meeting deadlines and managing a high volume workload

* A professional attitude, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to confidentiality
