What you'll get to work on As the SHESQ Manager you will lead the Safety, Health and Environment; and Quality Assurance Teams to ensure that all projects are delivered to the defined SHESQ standards. You will set clear objectives for the team and manage performance to ensure there is an effective SHESQ process through proactive and reactive inputs and monitoring. You will also support the development and maintenance of Capital Delivery’s Safety Management and Quality Management Systems in accordance with the principles of PAS 55 and ISO9001
You’ll also
Provide professional advice and support to the Capital Delivery Leadership team, Project Managers, Project Delivery & Design teams, Quality and SHE Advisors
Manage interfaces and support regular collaboration between Cadent teams, Capital Delivery and Contractor’s on all SHE and well-being matters leading on the implementation of process improvements and SHE initiatives to continually improve
Manage a process that will review the competence of both Cadent and Contractor’s teams and advising on SHE training requirements
In conjunction with the Projects Teams and Contractors, manage the implementation of SHE Bulletins / Alerts, Best Practice, Good Practice and Lessons Learned
Manage a team of SHE professionals that promote a positive SHE culture that engages all project team members and delivers continuous improvements in Health, Safety, Environmental management and well-being whilst ensuring all works are carried out safely and in accordance with the agreed contractual requirement, Construction Phase Plan and approved Method Statements
Develop an effective assurance regime covering all Capital Delivery activities. Manage a team of Quality Advisors to ensure key risks are identified and managed, and compliance is measured, with advice provided to Project Managers to ensure compliance with the Quality Management system
Manage and Maintain robust processes and procedures to provide a safe working construction environment by monitoring all activities carried out by the Project Delivery Teams and Contractors including compliance with CDM Regulations and applicable HSE legislation and Cadent corporate requirements
Lead with the review of any changes to Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, industry specifications and best practice advising on the potential impact on Capital Delivery
Ensure that all SHE events / incidents / accidents / dangerous occurrences are reported to the Capital Delivery Management Team and Project Managers and reported and investigated as required by the Incident Reporting and Investigation procedure. Undertake or support incident / accident investigations where requested in accordance with the procedure for Incident Reporting and Investigation
Monitor compliance with Cadent Procedures & highlight any non-conformance to the relevant manager.  
Who are we looking for •    A Health and Safety Professional with membership of relevant professional body such as IOSH
•    NEBOSH Safety Certificate
•    Recognised qualification in safety, quality or environmental management, at higher certificate, diploma or degree level (will consider candidates that can evidence practical experience of operation at the required level.)
•    CDM knowledge and training
•    Environmental management experience, preferably in the utility or construction environment
•    Experience of leading teams, including developing strategic plans, setting clear objectives, managing performance
•    Experience of influencing senior leaders in the supply chain to create common goals and address SHESQ performance issues
