Job description
Duct Fitters required for a commercial fit out project. Immediate start, 1 months work, £28 per hour CIS. Must hold CSCS Skill card and IPAF.
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter to join our team. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling various metal components. This is a full-time position that requires basic math skills, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency in stick welding.
Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Measure and mark materials for cutting and shaping
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and smooth metal components
- Weld metal parts together using stick welding techniques
- Inspect welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards
- Assemble fabricated parts to create finished products
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on equipment as needed
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Fitter or similar role
- Proficiency in stick welding techniques
- Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively
- Basic math skills for measuring and marking materials accurately
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy materials
