Construction Buyer

The Buyer will be responsible and accountable for the purchase of goods, materials and services to ensure that the companies operational needs are met, considering price, quality and delivery to ensure continuity of supply.
Responsibilities
* Obtain pricing from approved supply chain, issue purchase orders, resolve supply issues to meet project requirements.
* Post and pre-tender material buying.
* Cost analysis, working within allocated budgets.
* Review of tenders upon receipt with Estimating.
* Sending enquiries to Suppliers and sub-contractors for estimates of material & subcontract requirements.
* Deals with inward enquiries from Suppliers and those wishing to be our Suppliers.
* Supply technical data, quotations & the like to the Estimating department.
* Assist accounts staff with invoice queries.
* Liaise with Yard staff regarding relevant yard stock.
* Responsible for the ordering and timely delivery of site & yard requirements.
* Ensure technical personnel are kept informed about availability/delivery of stock & relevant legislation.
* Review drawing revisions to ascertain material changes & instigating appropriate action.
* Assist with revisions pertaining to material procurement procedures.
* Updates Tipping file and circulates.
* Analysis of received quotations.
* Maintenance of necessary records associated with duties
Experience required
Candidates must have experience in a buying role with a construction environment, ideally with a building/housing background.
Remuneration
Negotiable dependant upon experience, contact consultant for further details.
