Maintenance Engineer

Hourly Rate - £14 - £15.85
Job Summary
Supporting management by performing both reactive and proactive maintenance on production plant machinery to minimise production downtime by ensuring timely and efficient repairs and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform ongoing maintenance tasks, including routine checks, diagnosing, and repairing breakdowns to reduce unplanned downtime. Ensure permanent fixes and document root causes.
Monitor equipment performance post-repair to ensure proper functioning.
Install new parts and ensure all equipment complies with safety and legislative standards.
Maintain effective communication with managers and workers across the business.
Adhere to safe working practices and health and safety regulations at all times.
Collaborate with team members and take on additional responsibilities as required.
Take reasonable care of personal health and safety and that of others affected by actions or omissions.
Cooperate with the Management team on health, safety, and environmental matters. Report any system or procedural shortcomings related to relevant legislation.Key Skills
Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or production environment.
Proficient in fault finding and adhering to preventative maintenance schedules.
Demonstrated technical competence, proactive approach, and effective time management.
Logical thinker with excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with employees at all levels, exhibiting a positive attitude.
Self-motivated and independent worker.Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
