Fair4All Finance is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2019 to improve the financial well-being of people in financially vulnerable circumstances by increasing access to fair, affordable and appropriate financial products and services.

There are at least 17.5 million people in the UK in financially vulnerable circumstances, who are poorly served by or unfairly excluded from mainstream financial services. That’s nearly a third of all adults in the UK.

The Finance, Grants and Investment Committee (FGI) is a sub-committee of the Board responsible for overseeing all financial, grant and investment strategy matters. This includes related policies, the assessment and oversight of grants and investments, and the ongoing review of grant and investment outcomes and results and impact.

This committee reviews and approves the grants and investments Fair4All Finance make to support the key objectives of scaling the provision of affordable credit and piloting new products to meet the needs of people in financially vulnerable circumstances.

We are looking to appoint an independent member to bolster the Committee’s diverse expertise; someone with significant experience in unsecured lending and consumer credit, ideally from a community finance sector or a consumer lender with a subprime and/or near-prime lending portfolio.

As a member of the FGI, you will have the appropriate skills and experience and be able to engage in constructive, strategic discussions. Specifically, you will be able to demonstrate deep expertise in, and experience in, unsecured lending and consumer credit, ideally from the UK community finance sector, or from a consumer lender with subprime and/or near-prime lending. You will be familiar with consumer credit provision, underwriting and customer management, and KPIs associated with this sector. You must have the ability to provide independent scrutiny, sound judgement and to challenge and support when required.

It is anticipated that the time commitment for the Committee member will be in the region of one day a quarter which will include a minimum of six Committee Meetings.
