Role:

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering function plays a crucial role in the hardware development lifecycle, encompassing requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and verification to deliver electronic and electrical components and subassemblies for projects and products.


Professionals at this level leverage their technical expertise and significant experience to make independent judgments that inform decision-making. They are often regarded as key reference points or senior team members, handling more complex issues and providing guidance. These roles typically operate independently with minimal supervision and may also serve as project managers or formal mentors for junior staff.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and verify digital and analogue electronic hardware to meet requirements within budget and on schedule.
  • Perform design calculations, simulations, and prototyping to estimate performance, identify risks, and ensure high-quality designs with minimal need for redesign.
  • Develop and test electronic hardware according to the hardware development process.
  • Estimate and adhere to time and effort requirements for electronic hardware tasks to ensure cost and schedule compliance.
  • Provide technical direction across multiple projects to ensure optimal design and architecture choices.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs are suitable for volume production and assist with rapid debugging to minimise delays.
  • Actively contribute to design reviews and work constructively with team members to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Manage information security in accordance with the Security Manual to ensure compliance with government regulations.


Qualifications / Skills Required

Essential:

  • Electrical or Electronic Engineering Degree or relevant experience.
  • Experienced in either or both High-speed digital design or Analogue circuit design.
  • Proven ability to design reliable power supplies that meet specifications, analyse performance across various conditions, and accurately estimate performance.
  • Proficient in schematic capture tools and knowledgeable in constraining PCB layout using rules/classes/groups.
  • Experience in developing large, complex designs requiring multi-layer PCBs, including PCB stack-up design.


Desirable:

  • Understanding of design and testing for EMC and TEMPEST.
  • Experience with tools such as DOORS, PADS, and/or PSpice.


Role Requirements

  • Ability to obtain SC security clearance.
  • In some cases, willing to obtain DV security clearance.
