Position: Prevention Officer (YJS)
Location: London Borough of Lambeth
Service Care Solutions, in partnership with the London Borough of Lambeth, is seeking a dedicated Prevention Officer to join the Youth Justice Service (YJS) team. As a Prevention Officer, you will work collaboratively with families using a whole-family approach to prevent offending and support positive outcomes for young people.
Main Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of young people subject to Out Of Court Disposals and deliver targeted interventions.
Conduct holistic assessments using the YJB AssetPlus assessment tool and develop action plans to address needs and risks.
Work directly with children and young people to ensure their voices are heard in the planning process.
Provide structured support and interventions to families to facilitate behaviour change.
Track progress, maintain accurate records, and provide feedback to stakeholders.
Collaborate with partner agencies to support complex casework and promote the welfare of children and young people.Requirements:
Educated to A level with significant experience working in a youth justice setting.
Knowledge of successful engagement strategies for clients with low motivation and disaffection.
Familiarity with relevant Youth Justice legal frameworks, child protection, safeguarding, and data protection.
Extensive experience in direct work with families, children, or adults with additional needs.
Ability to work outside normal office hours, including evenings and weekends.
Enhanced DBS check required.Core Behaviours:
