Portfolio Procurement have been engaged by a global Manufacturing/FMCG company to recruit a Buyer/Category Manager for their Packaging spend. This role comes with excellent benefits including Private Healthcare, competitive Pension, Bonus and Hybrid working one day a week. Experience of sourcing Packaging is highly desirable, but our client will consider candidates with FMCG Procurement experience.
The role:
Developing and managing relationships with existing suppliers
Developing new products with existing and new suppliers
Sourcing and engaging reliable new suppliers.
Negotiating with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers to ensure they are optimized.
Reviewing forecasts to ensure stock levels are optimized.
Requirements:
Degree Educated
Knowledge of dealing in FMCG goods
Experience of managing global supply chains
Knowledge of environmental legislation and processes
In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
Analytical mindset
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience of budgeting and forecasting
