We are partnered with a leading Contractor operating across Europe involved in residential, commercial, public, technology, infrastructure, and data centre sectors in their search for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Civils Commercial Manager. As Civils Commercial Manager you will be overseeing the commercial aspects of our civil engineering projects, ensuring financial performance, compliance with contractual obligations, and successful project delivery which requires strong commercial acumen, expertise in contract management, and excellent negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
*
Work closely with Regional Director / Project Director in managing all commercial activities related to civil engineering projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting ensuring projects are delivered within the budget and maximise profitability.
*
Develop, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers ensuring all contractual obligations are met and manage any issues or claims that may arise.
*
Implement effective cost control measures to manage project expenses by monitoring project costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and providing regular financial updates to stakeholders.
*
Identify and address any commercial risks associated with civil engineering projects developing strategies to minimise/eliminate financial risk.
*
Manage the procurement process, including the selection and negotiation of contracts with subcontractors and suppliers ensuring procurement activities are aligned with project budgets and timelines.
*
Work closely with clients, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on commercial matters and address any queries or concerns promptly and professionally.
*
Prepare detailed commercial reports, including cost reports, financial statements, and progress reports ready for review/submission to senior management.
*
Ensure all commercial activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
*
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
*
Proven experience in commercial management within a large-scale project in the civil engineering or construction industry.
*
Qualifications accredited by RICS, CIOB, or ICES are desirable but not essential.
*
Data Centre experience is beneficial.
*
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and industry standards.
*
Proven commercial and financial management skills with the ability to interpret complex contracts and financial data.
*
Excellent communication skills with ability to convey complex commercial information clearly and effectively.
*
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of commercial management.
