Why Do We Want You?
We’re looking for a strong leader with an eye for detail and a knack for forward-thinking event coordination
In this role, you’ll be managing a team of four, overseeing the planning and delivery of our public training events, and working closely with internal and external clients to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Your expertise in scheduling, people management, and problem-solving will be essential as you guide the team through the daily tasks and occasional challenges that come with large-scale events.
Please note: To complete your application, you will be redirected to Wilmington plc’s career site. Job Purpose, Tasks, and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* Leading the planning, review, administration, and coordination of a portfolio of public training events.
* Attending and contributing to operational meetings.
* Building and nurturing professional relationships with clients, co-hosts, venues, speakers, and suppliers to foster seamless event support.
* Monitoring and evaluating client feedback to support continuous improvement and keeping management updated on relevant developments.
* Managing Salesforce cases and ensuring efficient resolution of client queries.
* Overseeing relationships with external speakers and co-hosts, providing guidance to the team on resolving standard and unforeseen issues independently.
* Leading Telephony and KPI reporting for the team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
* Monitoring and scheduling courses to ensure feasibility and manage department reporting for senior management.
* Coordinating with other team leaders on shared tasks to meet deadlines and maintain efficient operations.
* Taking responsibility for learning any new systems or software to support the team’s efficiency.
* Line managing the Courses Operations Team, becoming the key liaison for Course Operations and other departments when the Operations Manager is unavailable.
What’s the Best Thing About This Role?
The best part of this role is the diversity and challenge it brings – from overseeing detailed event logistics to supporting your team in their professional growth.
You’ll also have the opportunity to build strong relationships and networks within the industry, influencing the success of impactful training events.
What’s the Most Challenging Thing About This Role?
With the variety of events and stakeholders, you’ll encounter situations that require quick, independent problem-solving and resilience.
Balancing multiple priorities and managing both internal and external relationships will be key, especially when addressing complex scheduling or people-related challenges.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* Significant experience managing and coordinating training events across various formats (virtual, in-person).
* Experience in planning and scheduling training programs, with skills transferable to the accounting and tax advisory sectors.
* Proven line management experience, with a focus on people development.
* Advanced Excel skills and a strong eye for detail.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously in a hybrid environment.
* The ability to lead a team in alignment with the Operational Strategy and the guidance of senior management.
* A proactive, analytical approach, with the capacity to work through ambiguity and solve complex issues independently.
To be successful in this role, it would be great if you have:
* Experience in the accounting industry.
* Flexibility to travel occasionally within the UK for on-site event management.
We know it’s not a skill, but the successful candidate must have permission to work in the role’s location by the start of their employment.
