Position Details:
Title: Technical Compliance Manager – Waste Management and Recycling
Package: Competitive package ranging from £45,000 to £50,000, company car, fuel card, laptop, mobile, and pension benefits.
Location: This is a UK-wide role, covering sites in the Midlands, North West, and Yorkshire, with travel requirements.
Previous Job Titles: Previous roles could include Environmental Manager, Hazardous Waste Management Operations Manager, Recycling Site Manager, Environmental Compliance Manager or Advisor, Transfer Station Manager, IVC Plant Manager, Depot Manager, Construction and Demolition Waste Site Manager, or Commercial Manager.
Role:
As a Technical Compliance Manager in Waste Management and Recycling, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that waste materials are transferred and processed in strict accordance with the client's waste management permit. Your role involves a deep understanding of the chemistry of waste materials to qualify reports accurately.
You'll also be instrumental in upholding the company's Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems, Policies, and Procedures to guarantee compliance.
Experience:
We are seeking candidates with a strong background in making waste movements compliant and a basic understanding of waste management in a commercial context. This will include tasks like creating soil analysis reports and managing planning consents for the disposal of materials to Landfill. Categorizing waste using WM3 and LFT1 is also essential.
Qualifications:
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are beneficial:
WAMITB COTC (Certificate of Technical Competence) in Waste Management
Environmental Science Degree or Masters
ISO 9001 Auditing or Implementation
ISO 14001 Auditing or Implementation
ISO 18001 Auditing or Implementation
IOSH / NEBOSH
Full UK Driving License (Essential)
Proficiency in commonly used IT systems such as Microsoft Office or Databases
