we have an exciting opportunity for a Spray Shop Lead (Heavy Structural) to join our team. As a Spray Shop Lead, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day organising and operation of the Spray Shop, ensuring that all structural components are surface treated to the correct specifications, with deadlines met in line with the require-ments and instructions of the Workshop Supervisor(s) and/or Workshop Foreman/Manager. This will require the ability to work accurately, efficiently and with minimal instruction.nThe Responsibilities of the role:

the main responsibilities of the role will include, but not necessarily be limited to: -nTo take responsibility for the day-to-day activities and operation of the Spray Shop, ensuring that all Paint Sprayer(s) are led in the undertaking of their roles and responsibilities in line with requirements. Namely, but not necessarily exhaustive of: -nTo ensure that maximum output is being achieved daily.nTo ensure the highest standards of application are always met, and that surface treatments are being ap-plied to the correct specifications, standards, and good practices.nTo ensure economic use of products, ensuring minimum wastage throughout the surface treatment pro-cesses.nTo accurately record product useage, on either a day-to-day or project specific basis, to allow full traceability of application.nTo ensure that adequate and correct stock levels are maintained.nTo assist and undertake Spray application(s) as necessary, setting an example of the required work ethic and standards required, to all fellow Paint Sprayer(s). As part of the Spray application duties these will include: -nTo read and clearly understand all surface treatment requirements portrayed either through drawing information, itemised list format, and/or through direct notation(s) on components.nTo undertake and record daily atmospheric conditions/dew point readings prior to application.nTo assist with the distribution of components within the Spray Shop, to maximise output whilst main-taining adequate segregation allowing satisfactory surface treatment applications.nTo undertake all pre-spray checks of components to ensure that the correct blast profile had been achieved in consideration of the surface treatment specification being applied, and to blow-down all surfaces to remove any deposits prior to application.nTo select the correct surface treatments for application and mix to the correct ratios, all as necessary and in line with manufacturers recommendations/guidance.nTo undertake all strip coating of components in line with manufacturers recommendations/guidance and good practices.nTo apply the correct surface treatments product/specification to components observing the required wet film thicknesses (WFT) and dry film thicknesses (DFT) and ‘pot life’ of the products being applied.nTo undertake and record all required product batch numbers, WFT and DFT readings in line with the Company’s and/or project specific QA procedures.nTo assist with the distribution of components from the Spray Shop, once the surface treatments have suitably cured, to the loading area ready for dispatch.nTo clean down machinery and the working area, all as required, to maintain the integrity, efficiency and longevity of the spray plant, and to always provide a clean and tidy working environment.nTo always be punctual giving due respect and regard to all other employees of the Company.nTo comply always with the Company’s policies and procedures.nTo comply always with the Health and Safety documentation presented (including COSHH) and to undertake all daily tasks in strict compliance with Safe Working Procedures (SWPs’) and Risk Assessments (RA’s).nTo undertake any other task(s) as reasonably requested by senior management.nWhat you will need:

the successful candidate will, ideally, have previous experience within the heavy structural steelwork industry in the role of a Paint Sprayer looking to further their career, or as a current Spray Shop Lead, applying the Sherwin Williams Marine and Protective suite of products. Accreditation for the application of the Firetex (FX) range of products would be a distinct advantage although not essential. Full training would be offered as necessary. This is a challenging role, so will ideally suit a confident and ambitious individual who has the ability to lead and be part of a team within a busy Spray Shop environment.nWhat we offer:
