Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Preparation: Set up equipment and materials for practical science lessons, ensuring all apparatus is in good working order.
Support Teaching Staff: Assist science teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons by providing technical support and ensuring the smooth running of practical sessions.
Health and Safety: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and promoting good laboratory practices.
Resource Management: Manage and organise laboratory stock, ensuring that supplies are replenished and stored correctly.
Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Administrative Duties: Keep accurate records of inventory, safety checks, and equipment usage.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience: Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school setting is essential.
Qualifications: A relevant qualification in science or laboratory work is highly desirable.
Attention to Detail: Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other colleagues.
