Clinical Lab Technologist III – Flow Cytometry

Monday - Thursday, 10am - 6pm and Sunday, 9am - 5pm

Role requirements:


  • Performing standard and complex clinical lab tests independently and in accordance with departmental protocols and accredited standards
  • Specimen handling and processing (blood, tissues, FFPE tissue and other bodily fluids), analysis of tests, identification of performance issues in respect of the efficacy of the tests using flow cytometry methods
  • Creating accurate and informative reports to be presented at internal team meetings with supporting data and interpretation of said data
  • Carrying out newly introduced testing in the lab that requires validation and onboarding, creation of SOPs and ensuring they remain fit-for-purpose
  • Troubleshooting functionality issues with testing, performing quality control tasks on reagents, equipment and assays and flagging any non-conformances
  • Ensuring an effective workflow operation and educating other more junior members of the team on best practice, coaching and mentoring as required
  • Participating in ongoing education and development and imparting your own learning and knowledge
  • Good working knowledge of CAP/CLIA requirements


Your background:


  • BSc in a Biological discipline (or equivalent) along with at least 3 years bench-based experience in a clinical laboratory
  • Capable and proficient with lab techniques such as: Flow Cytometry, FFPE, FISH, cytogenetics and fluorescence microscopy, sample management, blood and bodily fluid processing.
  • Able to work in a Biohazard environment and comply with safety standards commensurate with this kind of setting
  • Excellent collaborative and communication skills; able to work at pace and under time-pressure with limited supervision
  • Strong attention to detail, methodical and meticulous in your handling and reporting of critical data
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
