We are looking for a passionate and motivated Teaching Assistant/Mentor to work with Year 5 class, supporting both in-class learning and small group sessions. You will be an integral part of our pastoral and Special Educational Needs (SEN) team, working collaboratively to ensure every child thrives academically and personally.
Role and Responsibilities:
Support Year 5 students within the classroom, assisting with daily lessons and activities.
Lead small group sessions outside the classroom, focusing on targeted learning interventions.
Collaborate closely with the pastoral and SEN teams to support students' emotional, social, and academic development.
Implement individualized support plans for students with special educational needs.
Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SEN team.
Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Support students during transitions and manage classroom behavior effectively.
Engage with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with primary school children, preferably within a Year 5 setting.
Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
Relevant qualifications in education or a related field are advantageous.
