Key ResponsibilitiesnLead and collaborate effectively with the Engineering Manager, Production Shift Leaders, and maintenance team members.nCoordinate day/shift maintenance activities to meet production objectives and KPIs.nProvide clear instructions to ensure safe working practices and minimise downtime.nCommunicate production, equipment, and departmental activity to the Engineering Manager.nAssist in resolving breakdowns swiftly and efficiently while being hands-on.nDrive continual improvement of production equipment.nEnsure first-time fix and quality of work.nLiaise closely with production to minimize downtime and meet requirements.nManage OEMs, contractors, and representatives when necessary.nDeliver technical support and training to the shift technical team.nIdentify training opportunities for self and team members.nUtilise CMMS (EAM system) effectively.nManage engineering team resources and set realistic task schedules.nEnsure compliance with standards, SOPs, and health and safety regulations.nDeputise for the Engineering Manager when required.
Skills & Experience required:nExperience as a multiskilled engineer, preferably with an electrical bias.nQualified to HNC/HND level in engineering is desirable or qualified by experiencenMinimum of 17th edition qualification in electrical installations.nProven ability to manage a team of 10 engineers effectively.nKnowledge and understanding of injection moulding an advantagenStrong prioritisation skills to manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance to ensure continuous operation of the plant on a 24/7 basis.nDemonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical issues efficiently.nSolid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices within a manufacturing environment.nExcellent communication skills to provide clear instructions and effectively consult with various stakeholders.nStrong problem-solving abilities to address complex technical challenges.nAbility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve production objectives.nExperience in driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.nFlexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.nProven history of delivering results and meeting KPI targets.nCommitment to ongoing learning and development to stay abreast of industry advancements and best practices.
