Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage a team and act as Line Manager to team members, ensuring effective communication and performance management.
  • Take responsibility for the design philosophy, options, and technical reviews.
  • Manage project changes, fees, and timelines to meet client and company objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, acting as Key Account/Relationship Manager for certain clients.
  • Quote for projects and support the Office Director in client management and development.


Technical Expertise:

  • Lead the structural engineering design process, overseeing technical drawings, calculations, and specifications using AutoCAD, REVIT, TEKLA, and MasterSeries.
  • Ensure the designers risk assessments are carried out at appropriate stages under the CDM Regulations.
  • Engage with BIM (Building Information Modelling) activities and deliverables, producing coordinated 3-D design models and documentation.
  • Immediate projects include high-rise schemes and residential developments for various developers.
  • Main project types encompass a broad variety, including steel, concrete, and modular structures.


Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • A bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (a master's degree is advantageous).
  • Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant codes and regulations.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
