Principal Data Platform Engineer - APIs

Fully Remote, with 1 Edinburgh office visit per month

Reports to Director of Engineering


AI Connect have partnered with a leading name in the gaming & gambling space to hire a Principal Data Platform Engineer to lead the development of their Enterprise API tooling. Their self-service data platform, hosted in AWS, has been developed to the highest standards for over 5 years, and you will be a key part in its future direction.


The Data Platform team creates tools, software, and infrastructure to enable the Data & Software Engineers, and with your team, you will be able to develop the vision for API tooling that will empower the wider function.


The core skillset:

  • Object Oriented Python for building software & APIs (they also use Trino & Kong)
  • Experience with Airflow or other orchestration tools (Hadoop, CloudComposer, Dagster etc)
  • Demonstrable cloud experience developing in AWS (preferable), GCP, or Azure
  • Experience of developing real-time streaming workloads – Kafka, Kinesis, PubSub, Flink, Spark
