Working hours: Full time, 4-day working week with alternate weekends (36.25 hours)

Experience level: This role is open to both newly qualified and experienced Dispensing Opticians who are registered with the GOC

Opening in May 2023, Specsavers in Hempstead Valley has become one of the leading opticians in the area and we are looking for a driven Dispensing Optician to join them on a full-time basis. The focus at this store is about pulling together and working as a team to ensure that our valued patients have an excellent experience.

As the store only opened last year you will be joining a state-of-the-art practice that is modern, bright, and new. Boasting 9 test rooms over 2 floors you will be impressed with the latest clinical technology and equipment you would have access to. The store is busy with 5 optical clinics running per day which includes daily Enhanced Optical Services (EOS), as well as 4 audiology and 4 contact lens clinics running per week.

Dispensing Opticians are the face of the clinic on the shop floor and usually an integral part of the store management team, so Hempstead Valley are keen to get you up to speed with management responsibilities. With ILM courses, pre-reg supervision and the opportunity to own your own Specsavers business, the store directors can guide you on your way to becoming a great leader. This, along with your clinical expertise will stand you in good stead if you choose to become a store director yourself one day.

Hempstead Valley has 3 sister stores Chatham, Gillingham and Strood. All stores are owned by the same group of 4 directors who have a huge wealth of experience and would be able to offer incredible professional and clinical support and development. Collectively, they have developed 5 members of the team who are now directors of their own stores. Could you be the next?
