Job Introduction
Landmarc Support Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Rural Operative to join the team at Brunswick Training Camp in Surrey. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in Rural Estate management, specifically Tractor and Machinery operation to contribute to the maintenance and development of our training grounds.
As a Rural Operative, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the Rural Estate. Your primary duties will involve operating tractors and other rural plant machinery to ensure the estate remains in top condition for its intended use. Your role will be fundamental in supporting a variety of tasks, from forestry and arborical work to track and fencing repairs.
Hours of work: 37 per week
Days of work: Monday to Sunday
Shifts run between: 07:00 - 17:30 (later shifts may be required on occasion)
Annual Allowances: £1,127.50 Variable Days Allowance for weekend work
Main Responsibilities
Operate tractors equipped with mowers, sidearm attachments, and other agricultural machinery to perform essential rural tasks.
Assist with a diverse range of duties including forestry work, arboriculture, track maintenance, and fencing repairs.
Adhere to and promote strict safety protocols while operating machinery, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Conduct routine maintenance of tractors and other rural equipment to ensure their optimal performance.
Utilise secondary skills in grounds maintenance, chainsaw operation, brush cutting, and herbicide application.
Perform additional tasks as needed to support the team and the estate.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential criteria:
• Proven experience and qualifications in operating tractors with agricultural attachments (e.g., 3-point linkage)
• Familiarity with conservation and agricultural work, with a solid understanding of the challenges and requirements of the sector
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety protocols, manual handling, and safe working practices
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills
• Competent in map reading and basic IT skills
• Must hold full valid UK driving licence
