.NET Senior Developer

Reporting of the Role

This role reports to the Tech Lead.

Overview of job

The Commercial Technology team develop and maintain the products and services that drive the commercial revenues at Global for both the Radio and Outdoor parts of the business.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the success of our advertising trading and scheduling services in the commercial radio domain, developed predominately using .NET (both .NET 8 and .NET Framework).
You'll employ best software practices like Clean Code Architecture and Domain-Driven Design.
Additionally, you'll own the technical lifecycle, including maintaining CI/CD pipelines (using Jenkins/Terraform), deploying services on AWS (using a combination of containerized services and VMs), and monitoring/alerting in a production environment (utilizing Prometheus/Grafana).

Measures of success -

In the first few months, you would have:

  • Developed a solid understanding of development tools and processes.
  • Worked with your new team to deliver features and enhancements to existing or new products within the Radio space.
  • Gained a deep understanding of the business context and how it affects all the deliverables of the team.
  • Grasped the monitoring and alerting system for the platform.
  • Understood existing Build and Deployment pipelines.
  • Actively participated in and contributed to team agile ceremonies.
  • Collaborated closely with the Tech Lead and other team members to understand ongoing projects and initiatives, actively participating in planning and decision-making processes.



Responsibilities of the role

  • Develop features for the business and participate in our agile development process.
  • Collaborate closely with the Tech Lead to define and implement the technical roadmap, guiding the team in adopting best practices, architectural decisions, and technological advancements.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
  • Serve as a technical authority within the team, resolving complex technical issues and providing expertise in .NET and related technologies.
  • Collaborate to ensure a stable and reliable production environment for our users.
  • Drive initiatives to improve development processes, code quality, and team productivity, leveraging your leadership and technical expertise.
  • Dedicate yourself to delivering the right solutions for our partners and customers.



What you will need

The ideal candidate will be proactive and eager to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

  • Demonstrated proficiency and up-to-date knowledge of .NET and C#.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions that meet business needs.
  • Ability to design robust and well-structured Web APIs.
  • Expertise in best coding practices such as Domain-Driven Design and Clean Code Architecture.
  • Ability to read, debug, and maintain legacy code in .NET Framework.
  • Experience in working with complex architectures and distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in networking, databases (SQL Server), and other relevant tooling and libraries (such as Unity, Dapper, Entity Framework and GraphQL). Although this role primarily focuses on .NET, we use other languages too, so a willingness to learn them would be encouraged.
  • Experienced in writing well-tested code, accounting for performance, security, maintainability, and supportability.
  • Comfortable managing deployment aspects of the application, including but not limited to, utilizing pipeline tools (Jenkins) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • A passion for staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, and a commitment to continuously improving technical skills and knowledge.
  • Good leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of developers.
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach to teamwork, promoting a culture of trust, respect, and accountability.
