The Moy Mackay Gallery is proud to be celebrating its 13th anniversary in Peebles.

The gallery features not only the work of Moy Mackay, but work by a range of artists across a variety of media including paintings, sculpture, ceramics, sculpture, glass and mixed media.

As well as a physical presence in the town, the gallery's website and social media accounts ensure that its audience is diverse and international.

As the gallery continues to adapt and grow, we now seek a dedicated gallery manager to take the gallery into its next era.

About the role
We are seeking a self-motivated individual who can confidently and competently generate sales within the gallery. This is a part-time position expected to be 3/4 days per week to start with scope for growth.

The successful individual will have a proven track record in high end sales and who can create a positive and engaging dynamic within the gallery for customers and staff alike.

In addition to driving sales, the sales advisor will also contribute to efficient business administration.

This may include:

helping to coordinate featured exhibitions within the gallery; researching and preparing for external art shows; scheduling and responding to social media; managing stock levels both in store and online.

Requirements:

• Proven track record as a successful sales agent essential
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Exceptional organisational skills
• Minimum of 2 years high end sales experience
• Stock management experience
• Confident with a range of computerrelated software, including excel and social media

Desirables:

• Previous sales experience in a creative environment
• Digital marketing experience
• Knowledge of the correct methods and procedures for maintaining and caring for art in a variety of media.
• Keen eye for aesthetics with an appreciation and interest in contemporary art

Remuneration:

£12 hourly depending on experience and skill set.
