We are in search of a motivated and dynamic individual to join our expanding Finance team. As the Finance Assistant, you will have a crucial role in delivering a smooth and top-notch service to the business. This position will report to our Head of Finance and collaborate closely with our Finance Manager to assist with various aspects of the internal finance function.

While our primary Finance team office is located in Ipswich, we allow a hybrid work setup from home and our offices in Ipswich, Colchester, and Bury St Edmunds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the purchase and sales ledger
  • Upload invoices to Dext
  • Initial approval of invoices in our internal system
  • Handle weekly BACS runs
  • Reconcile office account with Xero
  • Input direct receipts into our internal system
  • Process banking of cheques
  • Accept credit card payments from clients
  • Support Finance Manager in credit control including chasing outstanding debts
  • Assist the Head of Finance and Finance Manager with miscellaneous tasks

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Perform well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented mindset
  • Strong organization and time management abilities
  • Familiarity with Xero or similar software and Microsoft Excel, though not mandatory
  • AAT qualification is a plus, but not required
  • Solid administration skills
  • Previous experience in a similar financial role is desirable
