What you'll be doing as a Construction Engineer

Supporting essential design and delivery reviews, identifying risks and issues, and working with stakeholders to resolve them.
Carry out health and safety audits to ensure relevant issues are corrected.

Focussed on the construction phase of projects, assessing and reporting project progress, acting to rectify issues, and taking the lead on the escalation process if necessary.

Also, ensure all non-conformance is identified and corrected.

Managing identification and resolution of snags and after Take Over liaising with Operators and contractors to handle the defects and aftercare process' and performance testing.

Monitored, agreed on, and approved Takeover tests with the project team.
Ensure that the required project documentation meets our specifications and approve information for taking over.
Working as an active member of one or more project teams with one or more of our contractors.
Hybrid – Maple Lodge or Hampton Coal Wharf - Hybrid.

As part of this role, you will be required to be on site 3-4 days a week, 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate must drive; this role will come with a car allowance.

What you should bring to the role

Have an HNC or above in an appropriate engineering subject or background in a similar role.

Knowledge of health and safety on construction sites or holding of SMSTS qualification; this can be offered as part of the role if not as a current holder.

Understand design, construction, and operations within industries like the water sector.
Have a background in project delivery within the construction sector.
Be confident in communicating with various levels of stakeholders.
Foster a positive Health and safety culture within the team and contractors, ensuring we assert all environmental and Health and safety statutory 's in it for you?
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop construction and project management skills with Thames Water projects.

This will enable you to build upon your career into other others of Project Delivery we have to be able to deliver life's essential service.

Competitive salary from £40,000 to £60,000 per annum.
Car allowance of £4,500 a year.
26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution.
Personal Medical Assessments – Open to all once a year.
