Storm associates are recruiting an experienced Coil Erector to join our client on a permanent basis, who are One of the UK's leading manufacturers of Power & Distribution Transforms.


MAIN DUTIES

  • To carry out all production operations in accordance with the company health & safety policy. Ensuring your personal safety and that of others working in your area;
  • Prepare core & clamp assemblies and LV & HV coil windings to production priority;
  • Schedule for erection of LV & HV coil windings. Ensuring core lamination and clamp are free from damage and debris contamination;
  • Winding assemblies must be measured for axial and radial dimensions and arranged on core & clamp assemblies to maximise insulating properties, product performance and reduce potential for production test and in service failures;
  • Prepare LV winding terminations and copper bar work utilising soldering or brazing (or as directed) jointing processes and insulation materials to maximise insulating properties, product performance and reduce potential for production test and in service failures;
  • Prepare HV winding terminations and copper wire utilising crimping or soldering (or as directed) and insulation materials to maximise insulating properties, product performance and reduce potential for production test and in service failures;
  • Assemble ancillary components (Link Boards, Tap Changers, CT, etc) in line with supplier recommendation and production specification to maximise insulating properties product performance and reduce potential for production test and in service failures;

REQUIREMENTS TO CARRY OUT THE ROLE

  • GCSEs High school or equivalent (Desirable);
  • Apprentice trained in electrical mechanical engineering;
  • Experience of running and terminating cables;
  • Experience of insulation materials properties and techniques;
  • Electrical test experience;
  • Experience of reading, understanding and interpreting electrical I mechanical drawings;
  • Welding, brazing, soldering experience;
  • Crane, slinging and lifting experience;
  • Apprentice trained in mechanical engineering (Not Essential);
  • Fork Lift Truck licence (Not Essential).
