Milesian Manor Lifestyle Care Home, located in Magherafelt, is on the lookout for a skilled Executive Chef.

The ideal candidate will take charge of leading the kitchen team and ensure that wholesome, nutritious meals are provided, adhering to a structured menu that accommodates the diverse dietary needs and preferences of individuals.

Main Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the kitchen department, handling any concerns raised by senior management.
• Oversee, organize, and guide kitchen staff while managing either the entire kitchen or specific areas.
• Develop and introduce innovative ideas within the kitchen environment.
• Coordinate the overall kitchen operations to promote efficiency and effectiveness.
• Take proactive measures to ensure high-quality meal preparation and presentation at all times.
• Handle the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals for residents.
• Uphold stringent hygiene and food safety standards in the kitchen, maintaining cleaning records.
• Encourage kitchen assistants to be diligent in their cleaning responsibilities.
• Ensure meals are served consistently and attractively.
• Collaborate with nursing staff regarding residents' food choices, dietary requirements, and special events.
• Comply fully with COSHH regulations and ensure kitchen staff do the same.
• Maintain health and safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards in the kitchen consistently.
• Be well-versed in the company’s health & safety, infection control, hygiene, and fire prevention protocols, ensuring all staff members are also knowledgeable.

Essential Qualifications:

• Training in Food Hygiene & COSHH.
• Good overall health status.
• Strong command of both written and spoken English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with older adults.
• Keep a high level of cooperation with other departments.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with team members.
• Capability to work efficiently under pressure and utilize personal initiative.
• High standards of personal appearance and meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a managerial role.
• At least three years of relevant experience.
