We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and flexible Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our Integrated Therapy team to provide a service to children in Greenwich between the ages of 0-19 in our School Years Team.

You will be working with children with a broad range of needs across schools in Greenwich, clinics, other education settings and homes as appropriate.

In partnership with senior management you will be responsible for the supervision and clinical support for the wider team of Band 6 physiotherapists and Band 4 therapy technicians.

You will demonstrate creative thinking and will work as part of the team. A range of Paediatric experience is required, with a specific focus in MSK.

You will work closely with the other senior Physiotherapists and multi professional agencies across the borough to meet the needs of children and families as part of the Integrated Children's therapy service.

This post has team lead responsibilities for physiotherapy in School Years and the orthotics service . You will be part of the integrated therapy services, working collaboratively with your SLT and OT colleagues.
To perform a Highly Specialist children's physiotherapist role in the community, to children with disabilities.

To provide highly specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of CYP with physical disabilities.

To provide education and training for parents, carers, within education and in the implementation of activity programmes.


To demonstrate a high level of clinical effectiveness by use of evidence based practice and to provide an assessment of a CYP's physical disability using recognised standard assessment tools and expert knowledge.

To lead on departmental service innovations and initiatives, including audit/Quality improvement projects.

To perform a Highly Specialist childrens physiotherapist role in the community, to children with disabilities.


To assess the functional needs of CYP in order to develop and implement Highly Specialist Childrens Physiotherapy treatment and intervention.


To write detailed reports and programmes reflecting extensive highly specialist knowledge for multiple purposes including physiotherapy management medical reports reports for child protection conferences specialist time bound special educational needs reports and legal reports.


To provide highly specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of CYP with physical disabilities: development, posture, movement, participation and/or coordination difficulties.

To ensure that patients and carers are involved in the planning and prioritisation of care.

To provide education and training for parents, carers, early years and education in the implementation of activity programmes.

To act according to individual patient circumstance, cultural differences and diversity.

To liaise and negotiate with others, for example, Health Consultants, social workers, teachers, Education staff, G.

To demonstrate a high level of clinical effectiveness by use of evidence based practice and to provide an assessment of a CYPs physical disability:
developmental, posture, movement, orthopaedic and/or coordination difficulties using recognised standard assessment tools and expert knowledge.


To lead on departmental service innovations and initiatives, including audit/Quality improvement projects, that further improve client care in the context of an ever evolving clinical and financial landscape.

Training and Qualifications
Physiotherapy Degree or equivalent
Relevant experience at undergraduate/postgraduate level, 5 years minimum post registration
Relevant highly specialist experience in paediatrics, post qualification equivalent to 2 years band 6 grade
Experience working with school aged children and those with complex needs
Experience working with children with developmental delay
Experience working with common MSK complaints in children
Ability to evidence knowledge of relevant clinical practice / reasoning, current to these specialist fields
Evidence of carrying out service audit/evidence based research projects

Evidence of delivering evidence-based paediatric assessments and interventions
