Reed HR are working alongside a large Educational Establishment based in North West London, who are recruiting for an experienced Senior HR Business Partner for initially 6 months on a fixed term contract.

This role is hybrid so you will be expected to travel into the office 2 days a week.

Job Summary


To lead and manage the strategic development a professional HR service across the a range of HR activities including recruitment and retention, training, learning and continuous development, employment services, employee relations, pay and reward, payrolland pension management and administration.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Organisational Development_
  • To lead and deliver the HR Strategy and support functions aligned to the organisations Strategic Plan.
  • To oversee the continuous development on ongoing review of HR policies and procedures to ensure they fit with the Strategic Plan and that they encourage and facilitate continuous improvement, development and progression of individuals and teams.
  • To set the standards and take responsibility for operating various policies and procedures including: recruitment, induction, probation, job evaluation; performance review; discipline; grievance; capability; harassment; illhealth and termination of employment.
  • Resourcing, Recruitment and Retention_
  • To be responsible for the recruitment and retention of staff ensuring the service is in line with best practice and continues to attract world leading talent.
  • To oversee recruitment processes ensuring interview panels and appropriate guidance and training to panel members takes place.
Learning and Continuous Professional Development

  • To lead on the development of the Establishments training events in line with organisations strategic priorities including Management and Leadership, Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion.
  • To provide a platform for coaching managers to ensure they can deal successfully with people management issues, develop their capability in effective performance management and employee engagement.
  • To be responsible for the management of the organisations annual appraisal cycle and probation review processes.
  • To lead on the development of organisations learning and development process ensuring staff are appropriately trained in the cycle.
  • Employee Relations, Engagement and Communication_
  • To develop and maintain effective business planning, management of change, and operational management for all services within the HR portfolio.
  • To lead on the liaison with the local and regional UCU and UNISON representatives.
  • To act as the HR representative on employee relation cases.
  • To manage terms and conditions of employment in line with the framework's approved by the Governing Body from time to time.
  • To be responsible and oversee the review of policies and procedures are reviewed and uptodate with current legislation.
  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion_
  • To oversee the development of the equality and diversity policies and procedures in liaison with the companies Equality and Diversity action plan.
  • To be accountable for the organisations employment practices and processes are compliant with the Public Sector Equality Duty and evaluate the impact across the establishment.
