This newly established role as a Credit Risk Analyst directly reports to the Chief Risk and Information Officer, offering a fantastic chance to influence the credit risk framework of a rapidly expanding organization. This position is vital as the company aims to enhance their analytical capabilities and foster data-driven decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies for credit risk management, including manual verification rules for the underwriting team.
  • Analyze data from Credit Reference Agencies and other sources to create innovative credit approval processes.
  • Ensure the performance of the decision engine by monitoring rules, product limits, credit score cut-offs, and affordability assessments.
  • Utilize a robust test-and-learn strategy, crafting tests based on data-driven insights and tracking performance.
  • Conduct specialized analysis in scorecard development, modeling, profiling/segmentation, and forecasting to ensure lending aligns with Credit Risk Policy and the business's risk appetite.
  • Code, test, and deploy approved changes to credit decisioning systems while maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Offer guidance on business insights and analytical trends.
  • Address issues, spot trends, and devise effective solutions to enhance customer outcomes and business performance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in devising credit risk strategies and managing information in the financial sector, preferably Consumer Credit.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, VBA, and Python.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and present data in a Credit Risk role.
  • Familiarity with Credit Reference Agency data and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Aptitude for delivering precise results at high standards under tight timelines.
